Definitions of amplitude, wavelength, crest, trough, period, frequency and oscillation

  • Crest: The top, as of a hill or wave.

  • Trough: A long, narrow, generally shallow receptacle for holding water or feed for animals.

  • Period: An interval regarded as a distinct evolutionary or development phase.

  • Frequency: The number of times a specified.
